Pilot

Well, it's been about half a year since I first created this blog, and I'm only just now getting around to putting up a first post. This will be somewhat rambling, unfortunately, so I apologise beforehand.

Some introductions are perhaps in order. This is meant to be a semi-unofficial blog/record/etc. focusing on the Youth Group of Mountainside Ministries in Lake Elsinore (formerly Carbon Canyon Church of Brea). At some point in the past this youth group was called U-Turn, and that may still be the official name, I'm not sure. Or else there is no official youth group since the move. We don't have a youth-only meeting, anymore (nor have we for a while, not that I mind, much.) This blog's title comes from a name ("Sold Out") the worship team toyed with some time ago, when Mr. Barnes was preaching his "Sell Out!" messages.

"I", in this post atleast, refers to Gregg Johnson. I've played the Congas for Friday Nights and Sonday* Worship for a year or... maybe more (2004-ish?), and I attended Carbon Canyon from, say, March 2001 until the move at the start of this month. Now, when I can, I hitch a ride out to Lake Elsinore on the weekends. Occasionally said ride also coincides with waterskiing and swimming on the lake either before the service on Saturday Night or after church Sonday.

Maybe I'll write more later. Maybe I'll post Fire and Water, my recollection of last year's Cottonwood Cove trip. Maybe... most likely... but for now, some links and info:

Mountainside Ministries: Official Website
Service Times:
Friday (Prayer) - 7:00 pm
Saturday (Bible Study) - 5:00 pm
Sonday (Worship and the Word) - 9:00 am

Oh, and we'll be getting a pool, eventually. When the contractors figure out what they are doing.

*Sonday : It's the Lord's Day, the Day of His Rising. It's the Day of the Son. Not the Sun. So I spell it accordingly. If I can ever convince anyone else to contribute to this website they can keep their own linguistic idiosyncrasies. This is one of mine.
